Industry Test screening of Still Loved fine rough cut

On Thursday 12th March we saw Still Loved for the first time on a big screen, with an invited film industry audience as a test screening to get feedback before we picture lock and proceed to our on line post production.
Picture
It was a nerve wrecking day for us. Our Director Debbie Howard, Producers Colin Pons and Polly Perkins and Assistant Producer Emily Axon came to London to get prepared. We were joined by our lovely volunteer Esther Bowell. We got our food prepared, taking over the kitchen at Molinare...we're northerners....we have to make sure we've got our food sorted!
Picture
We were then joined by our Editor, Joby Gee, Exec Producer Lucy Paul, our DoP Emma Dalesman and the wonderful Tom Rogers and his team from Molinare. Our invited guests, which included several of our sponsors, some of whom have also lived with baby loss in their families and understand the subject matter of Still Loved from a personal experience, as well as many industry professionals who began to arrive for pre drinks in the bar.

We then moved into the beautiful Molinare cinema where our Director Debbie gave an introduction to Still Loved and talked about whey she had made the film and what stage we are at with it now.
Picture
We then shared the film for the first time. It's almost at picture lock, but no sound mix has been done, no grade, and the music was all temporary/guide tracks until we start working on the score.
It was fantastic to sit back and watch it on a big screen. We were extremely proud of the work we've done so far and the film was incredibly well received. We had amazing feedback from our audience at our post screening drinks. Our audience found the film sensitive, moving, informative and very engaging.

"Watching this film embodies, in a way, the emotion of losing a child."
Samm Haillay
Producer, Third Films

"It’s beautifully put together and paced perfectly."
Tom Rogers, Molinare

We had a very positive response from TV broadcasters and will now follow up with meetings over the next couple of weeks as we complete the rest of the post production process to get to the finished film.

Exciting times ahead! Big thanks once again to everyone that has helped to get us to this stage - so nearly there now!

Final shoot with Matt & Juliette

3/8/2015

Yesterday we went back to Solihull for a final shoot with Matt and Juliette Gaunt, a year since our last visit. (I literally can't believe a year has past so fast!). We went to pick up some close up shots of some of their items from Ben's memory box and a few exterior shots.
Holly had probably got fed up of listening to us all talk for 9 months and wanted to get stuck in herself! It was great to catch up with the whole family, thanks so much all your patience during our long period of shooting together and for making us so welcome.
Last time we visited, Holly had just been born, and now she's walking around and climbing on everything and is super cute! I think she actually wants to be part of our film crew.

It was great to catch up with this lovely family and have Holly helping us on set. Thanks for being so patient with us during all the months of shooting.
Wishing Matt and Juliette all the best with the imminent birth of Holly's new brother or sister in a few weeks time and looking forward to meeting them soon.
We had a tiny crew for the day. Debbie Howard - Director and Emma Dalesman - Director of Photography. Big thanks to Emma for doing a wonderful job, capturing some beautiful footage (and lugging a load of heavy kit up from London on the train!) It was well worth it.

We have one more shoot day planned soon with Eve, then that really will be it. Back to finish the final stages of editing!

Wishing you a very "Happy Birthday" today Matt! Hope you have a lovely day. Loads of love from the Still Loved team.

Motion Control at Itch film

We've just completed a few days addition filming for Still Loved. We teamed up with Itch Film in London, who have a fantastic studio and motion control rig. We've filmed some stunning sequences which will give our film a beautiful, cinematic quality.
Picture
It's been a great pleasure to work with the Itch team. Huge thanks to them all, especially Lucy and Charlie Paul and Alice Cady for your expertise and warm hospitality (and fantastic family lunches!)
Picture
We're also delighted to announce that Lucy Paul, Producer at Itch Film has come on board as Exec Producer for Still Loved which is fantastic for us. Lucy has already started making great headway with this and is gearing up for the next phase of the film.
It was fantastic to have our Editor, Joby Gee join us for lunch on the last day. We're looking forward to get all these new sequences into our cut next week.
A huge thank you to all our families for either coming to London with your precious baby items or for trusting us to take them with us. It meant so much to us to have your help with this, and will be well worth the trouble in the end.

Big thanks to all the Big Buddha team for working so hard on getting this together. Gearing up now for two final additional shoot days with Matt and Juliette this weekend and Eve in the next couple of weeks. Then that really is it! Final phase of editing commences. Woop!
